Tangled Typhoon

As we mentioned yesterday, Typhoon had a little mishap while hiking Sunday. We live in a part of the country where numerous vines, such as kudzu, grow with abandon in the woods. Though they die back in the winter, getting tangled in those vines can be challenging. And so we present a Tangled Typhoon.

off-the-trail

Holy cow, this off-the-trail thing seemed like such a good idea at the time.

get me out of here

Seriously, could all of you stop laughing, stop taking pictures, and get me out of here?

A little while later on the trail . . .

telling tall tales

And then I was in this magical forest and the evil spirits tried to capture me and . . .

Thanks for all of the well-wishes for the hu-grandmom on her knee replacement yesterday. The surgery went smoothly and she is recovering well.

Typhoon, the girls have been hiking in those magical forests before, too, and they say you’re lucky you got away!

Typhoon, you are SO BRAVE! Going up against the evil spirits and all. Wow. I hope the rest of the Herd was impressed!

Mom & Ice BOTH say: Soooooo glad the hu-Gran’mom’s surgery went well, and love and best wishes for a speedy recovery!

Mom sez: If I thought Ty would learn from his experience, I’d feel sorry for him, but knowing Siberians as I do, he’d do it all over again in a minute! When we lived in the Yukon, I had a Malamute/Husky X we raised from a puppy. His name was Nikko. He had a “thing” for porcupines, EXTREMELY prolific in the Yukon, and Nikko would NOT leave them alone. There was no vet in Watson Lake, where we lived, but Dr. Said, our family GP, looked after both people and small animals as much as he could. Dr. Said swore Nikko kept going after the “porkies” because of the “high” he got when Dr. Said gave him a tranquilizer to help ease the pain of having a face full of quills removed at least three or four times a summer. Nikko just NEVER learned.
