Roscoe’s Fifth Herdaversary

We want to wish our big, lovable lug—and Typhoon’s bestest buddy ever—a very happy Roscoe’s Fifth Herdaversary! Yes, five years ago today, we brought our big boy to Chez Herd.

We lost Qannik and Kiska a mere 12 days apart, leaving a gaping hole in The Herd. They were an unlikely pair of friends, so it was appropriate that Roscoe came into our lives and formed another unexpected friendship. We had anticipated he would befriend Landon, but it turned out that he and Typhoon became pals from the very first day.

Typhoon and Roscoe – Who would have expected this?

Typhoon had always been such a loner, so we had never expected the bromance for the ages. But they have been thick as thieves—which might be an incredibly apt description—from those early days.

That's my hole i dug. Don't touch it.
Okay, that might be just a wee bit too close, new bro.

So the new walking formation was easy to figure out. No matter what the weather, they have been side-by-side ever since.

Now it's starting.
And snow too!

Roscoe was happy to have a brother and a little snow. Then that little snow turned into a lot of snow and things got even better. Yeah, Roscoe says he hit the jackpot.

In the rare moments when the two of them weren’t together, Roscoe still monitored his brother’s every activity.

Mostly, though, their favorite activity is “tackle-wrestle-bitey face-body slam-tag you’re it.”

Roscoe demonstrates how to initiate a game of tackle-wrestle-bitey face-body slam-tag you’re it.

So, Happy Fifth Herdaversary. We’re glad you joined us here at Chez Herd. Even the grumbly Little Prince might express some appreciation.

Now we’ll let Typhoon and Roscoe celebrate in their usual way.

The games go on and on and on

I have always had a soft spot for Ty, and I think it’s because I’m pretty antisocial too. 🙂 But it does warm my heart to see him and Roscoe. They are all such lucky dogs, and I am very thankful to you for sharing them with us. ❤️

Happy Fifth Herdaversary, Wow, it does not seem possibly that it has been five years since he joined the Herd. He fits in so well and has been a great companion (play mate) for the Little Prince. It is so nice to see them together. Love all the Herd members.
