The Red Flash (aka, Cheesewhiz)

Despite our weak fencing situation, Hu-Dad decided he could trust Cheesewhiz in the yard without holding her leash…until the red flash appeared.

Just look at this face, Hu-Dad. Trust me.
Just look at this face, Hu-Dad. Trust me.

Cheoah’s fourteenth birthday is just weeks away and she often opts to forego the long walks her brothers enjoy. Her spirit is strong, but her step is a little slow, so the Hu-Dad decided to drop her leash in the yard and just let her run around. After all…how fast could she be?

Watch the red flash of my tail, Hu-Dad.

Yes, that’s right, the Cheesewhiz took off and gave Hu-Dad the slip. He was walking behind her, close enough to grab the leash if needed, when she squeezed between the tree and fence—a spot the Hu-Dad can not fit—and accelerated.

Catch me if you can, Hu-Dad.

We are still waiting on some of the house renovations to be complete so we can install new fencing and secure the old fencing. Until then, too many escape routes exist and too much wild is around us, so leash protocol is enforced. Unless you are cute and red (and caught before she slipped outside the fence).

Happy racing around the yard.

She looks soooo happy. I know they miss their zoomies.

We are quite happy with indoor zoomies. Hu-Dad, however, will be thrilled when outdoor zoomies in the yard become easier and don’t require supervision.
