Telling Tails On The Trail

We had a really busy weekend with lots of things going on, but we needed some hiking time – see how good you are at telling tails on the trail.

A tight formation.

A tight formation.

Wonder how many of our readers can correctly identify us simply by our tails? Go ahead, look at the photo above, and name us from left to right. We’ll wait.

Loose formation.

Loose formation.

We agree, that first photo was tough because we were bunched together so tightly. Here we are in a much looser formation walking down our road. And, yes, we walked a lot yesterday for some reason. Can you name us from left to right? We are betting not many of you can get every name. We will review the answers and give you a clearer answer later this week.

Typhoon says this might be a trick question.

Movie Memory Monday

As you pondering the quiz above, we thought this was a perfect time for a Movie Memory Monday starring our two seniors who recently left us. A little Q-Tip Perimeter Patrol makes us smile and hope you smile at it, too.

Landon, Frankie, Cheoah, Typhoon and now Roscoe! So happy to see a new addition. I have seen such an increase in sibes needing homes in the past year and it touches my heart to see one welcomed into such a loving home. I would love to add another to my home – but there is this cat issue at my house and a new sibe may not be as receptive as mine. I have your stories since I found “frankencouch” and the escape artist who moved the wood pile. Thank you for sharing.

    5. I see 5!!!!!!!

We had a visitor from Garner in January of ’14. We actually spent nearly nine months “Sibe-less” and that remedied the situation. Good for y’all…….

Did y’all go to Garner or Snow Camp for a drive this weekend, pray tell?

    • The Thundering Herd on November 19, 2018 at 6:17 pm

We can technically answer no. But we won’t deny contact with someone from Garner. 🙂

Miss Cheoh is of course unique as the blonde husky, then Landon’s tail is distinct with the curve leftwards, and Frankie and Typhoon can be distinguished by the presence/absence (respectively) of brush ‘lines’ on their sides, so that leaves one skinny tail connected to a skinny body unnamed – I’m guessing s/he is a young one based on lean-ness and black back? Welcome to the pack!

I thought my coffee hadn’t kicked in at first glance. How exciting! Someone’s not as fuzzy as the others. 😉 Nice to see the video of the two latest angels.

Ah ha!! I knew those at Rainbow Bridge would send one who needs HuDad’s love and stability and will come to love the Herd and HuDad. I’m thrilled and excited to ”meet” the new member. I admit as I counted tails, I teared up with joy!

Extra tail! New dog. Excited to hear about the newest addition.
I hope Landon is filling the newbie in.

  9. CAROLYN ROGERS on November 19, 2018 at 9:11 am

Also, that is a very very long tail. Are you sure it isn’t a cat?

  10. CAROLYN ROGERS on November 19, 2018 at 9:09 am

OMG A NEW DOG!!!! And not another red. IS IT A BOY? A GIRL? Who is this LUCKIEST dog in the whole wide world to land with you guys? I seriously thought you might stick with four now, for the Cheese’s sake, but looks like some little skinny baby found its way to you!

    • The Thundering Herd on November 19, 2018 at 9:28 am

Cheesewhiz might be questioning the humans’ wisdom at the moment.

  12. Pat and Rebel on November 19, 2018 at 8:48 am

    • CIndy on November 19, 2018 at 8:11 am

Is tail #5 next to Typhoon?

      • The Thundering Herd on November 19, 2018 at 9:29 am

His Haughtiness seems to have taken on the role of mentor – a quite frightening prospect.

        • Cindy on November 19, 2018 at 9:02 pm

OMG! That can only lead to some great antics coming up. Lol

        • Cindy on November 19, 2018 at 9:03 pm

And thank you for sharing the video of Q-tip today.
