Weekend Weather Forecast

With Hurricane Florence approaching the coast, many readers have asked about our weekend weather forecast here in Western North Carolina.

We foresee heavy snoozing

We foresee heavy snoozing

We have been watching Hurricane Florence approach for a number of days and are really worried about our friends in various parts of the Carolinas. Based on a long history of hurricanes, we expect the damage from this storm to be catastrophic, and that includes the likelihood of significant flooding and mudslides here in our beloved mountains.

Our weekend weather forecast includes scattered Sibes.

Our weekend weather forecast includes scattered Sibes.

Fortunately, for us here at Chez Herd, we should get through the storm with nothing more than heavy rains, some downed limbs and possibly a few trees, and the risk of the generator having to power our house. But in the grand scheme of things, that means a wet, soggy, inconvenient weekend. We should be safe and dry, so please join us in thinking of the thousands who will not be so lucky.

Someone let me know when Florence is gone.

Prayers for everyone facing weather adversity no matter where in the world you reside. May you all come through unharmed.
Let us hope that the weathermen are incorrect and no one has to suffer severe adversity.
After all, weatherman is the only job where you can be wrong 80% of the time and still keep your job.

But in all seriousness please everyone be safe

I’m worried about every living thing in the path of this storm. Your location was well chosen. Hugs to the herd and hope Frankie doesn’t get too stressed.

We are in the same boat on the other side of the world. We have a super typhoon barreling down at us and it arrives Friday night. Our location in many is high enough and drainage is ok as is security (we live in gated community). Buying emergency supplies (beer and dog treats and fuel for generator). Expect lots of rain. Dogs will stay my room so everybody happy.

My thoughts and prayers are with all who will suffer the effects of Hurricane Florence but glad your weather prediction of “Scattered Sibes” shouldn’t be badly affected! LOVE the way they all sleeping all around!

Mom ‘n Ebby say: Hopefully you are right, Kirk, and the only effects you’ll have from Hurricane Florence is “soaky-wet” Sibes. Stay safe, ALL of you!
