When medical supplies appear in our home, the only question to ask is for whom the wrap rolls. The rolls for thee. (Our apologies to John Donne).
A certain royal pain in the *** prince of a dog has a sore on the knee that is being treated with antibiotics. Unfortunately, the same dog refuses to leave the spot alone long enough to heal. Various approaches have been tried, but the vet suggested securing a sock over the leg to prevent further licking.
An old sock has been trimmed. Vet wrap has been applied. And a certain dog who is rarely amused with human antics gets to add one more grievance to his very long list of grievances.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
Sweet Typhoon could never, ever be a pain in anything. Such a sweetie!! He deserves lots of liver treats for this mistreatment. :-). I hope he heals up soon.
Try putting calendula ointment by Hyland (I get mine from iherb but amazon carries it too) before you wrap it up. We have had great success with sores that will not heal, healing with this. Or manuka honey also.
Thanks for the suggestions!
Hu-dad you better sleep with one eye open!! ????????????
Why is it I feel the cone of shame coming? We know the Prince is determined. Lamp shades don’t look good on royalty Typhoon….unless a party is involved. I’d leave that wrap alone dear.
Hopefully he won’t bother it much. When our husky was in a similar situation, he ate the vet wrap and pulled off the sock. He had to wear the cone of shame until the sore healed.
The vet wrap is soaked in bitter apple, so he has left it alone so far.
So far.
Poor baby, I hope the payback isn’t too bad.
DON’T mean to laugh BUT reminds me of times when one of the dogs we had or have has needed something like this!!! Sp sorry sweetie YOU are the one that needs the “roll”!
