Of the many character traits among The Herd, the one that surprises most people is the instigation routine of sweet little Cheoah.
When we shared the post yesterday of Cheoah racing after Frankie in the yard, several readers expressed surprise that Cheoah would stir up trouble. We have long referred to her as our little instigator, because she likes to surprise everyone with her antics.
Now if Typhoon did something like this, he would not care who saw him. And Landon would try to express how sorry he was. But Cheesewhiz? She has mastered the art of plausible deniability.
Way Back Wednesday
We have been blogging for many years and are always surprised when we realize that another long time blogger has aged. Such is the case with the most creative of blogs, Dennis’ Diary of Destruction starring Dennis the Vizsla (and his human scribe, James Viscosi). Dennis is facing some medical challenges and realizes that time has become quite precious.
Our own Hu-Dad scribe wrote Enjoy the Small Things many years ago about a very little incident that meant a great deal. His first Siberian Husky, Nikita, wanted just a few more minutes when they were running late – a few minutes that Hu-Dad will always remember because of how happy it made Nikita.
It’s important in our busy lives to remember the lesson of that day. And so we pass our best thoughts to our pal Dennis and to his humans. May your days be bright and joyous and may you Enjoy the Small Things.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
Oh my goodness what a beautiful story… every moment is precious… even with an instigator!
TIME is precious for us all. Although my hubby and I are retired-we usually have lots of doctor appointments BUT always make sure our big boy Bradley has LOTS of time with us. Dennis and his humans will be in my thoughts today and always.
