As so many in the U.S.A. prepare for today’s total solar eclipse, we wanted you all to relax knowing our Eclipse Security Chief was on duty.
Since we are in the path of totality, many businesses in the area are working reduced hours or even closing. Regardless of what they do, those responsible for our security must always work. As always, we salute the law enforcement and emergency personnel who keep us safe all of the time.
And that include our own Chief of Security who promises everyone that she will be on duty keeping us safe even from unusually timed darkness.
If you are planning to watch the eclipse, we wish you the clearest of skies and the safest of times.
And if you aren’t eclipsed out yet, the Hu-Dad has posted yet one more story with an eclipse theme. We have already clarified that most of us animals are not threatened in any way by this natural phenomenon, but what about vampires? Perhaps this is a Vampire Eclipse. Hope you enjoy his story.

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
Mom sez: Just wondering if the Herd showed any reaction at all to the view you had of the eclipse. Here in Northern BC, all we got of it was a slight “dimming” of the overcast sky for a few minutes. Nothing to get all excited about here at all.
Because the Hu-Dad took off to the Parkway to see totality, we stayed in our crates. Just seemed like a normal nap time.
Would love to see your take on the eclipse with the Tree of Life in view.
You are in a prime location. Will you be photographing the event? We’ll be at 92% in the foothills of Colorado, so will just be watching it and taking note of the wildlife.
The Hu-Dad was having too much fun hanging out with Super Nephew, so opted to just enjoy the eclipse and not attempt to photograph it.
Kiska, not even Vampires scare me when you’re on security duty! We humans like to make a big deal (and$) when the solar system does weird things. You and your animal friends are the smart ones. Take a nap, and wait for dinner!
Thank you Eclipse Security Chief Kiska!!! I feel 100% safer knowing you’re in control!!!
