Sometimes, Waves Happen

Landon has learned yet another valuable lesson living among The Thundering Herd. Sometimes, when you aren’t looking, waves happen.

I was totally innocent, too.

I was totally innocent, too.

Some of our walks are on the beach. The beach is cool with all of its smells to explore, people to meet, and sand to dig. However, none of us have any interest in getting our feety-feet wet. Natasha enjoyed splashing along the edge of the water, but Landon has only shown a little curiosity. He has carefully walked just to the dry side of all waves . . . except once.

No, I do not have a large branch in my paws. Back to the story, quick.

It was our post breakfast walk. And, well, what goes in, must come out. So Landon decided that he needed to go right there on the beach (No worries, Hu-Dad always has bags).

You should know that Landon – like Typhoon – is a Feng Shui Dog. For those who have not experienced the pleasure, this is a dog that has to spin and spin until facing just right before business can be done. Both Landon and Typhoon need several spins before the everything is ready.

In this particular beach episode, that position was facing due west. With the ocean to his back. So he never saw the larger than normal wave that pushed surf further up the beach and right through his paws. On the bright side, per Hu-Dad, it did speed the entire process up considerably.

On the lookout for attack waves.

I don’t think I’ve been owned by a dog yet that hasn’t done spins before poop time 😛 Must be nice to have one that doesn’t lol.

The little movie played in my head as I read this. Not the subject matter you’d want for a Friday video, but I imagine would’ve been hilarious.

Thankfully, Hu-Dad will not film THAT!

Ah, the hunt for the perfect pooping location is so real. I have a husky and sometimes dog-sit other husky/cross dogs, and the process is So Dramatic. This little one I’m dog-sitting this week does not only the hunt and the spins, but then a shuffle-dance to be in *just* the right position. It takes forever!

Ahhhh, the spinning pooper. It must be a Husky thing. It’s amazing they get anything done with all the spinning, sniffing and searching for the perfect spot. Look at the bright side….I bet Landon’s “business” got washed out to sea. Keep that bag for another Herd member Hu dad!
