You Thought Your Monday Was Bad

shock

I am still in shock.

Sure, everyone talks about how bad Mondays can be, but Qannik says he can top anyone’s Monday out there. Especially since this happens to be the Monday right before Christmas.

Qannik had his regular exam at the vet yesterday. Of course, the first part of the vet exam is stepping on the scales.

higher numbers

Higher numbers are good, right, doc?

Oops. Apparently there is more under that fluff than we had expected, because he weighed in at 64.5 pounds (29.3 kg) when he has typically weighed between the mid and upper 50’s.

That means Q-tip returns to the green bean diet – where we substitute part of his food with green beans so that he feels full but has consumed less calories.

And you thought your Monday was bad

And you thought your Monday was bad?

Harlow will be joining you – she gained some weight due to her broken toe. That super fluff of hers couldn’t hide it.

Mom sez: I had never heard of the “green bean diet” until now, but now that I have, will have to give that a try with Ice. At 12½ years, and the fact that we’re not able to take him for REGULAR “runs” anymore, either, he’s got a little too much “fluff” that isn’t on the outside!

Thanks for the tip on green beans. Our Boo has gained weight too, partially because she has slowed down at 12years old and is partially blind now too. The vet checked her thyroid and it was ok. He told us to watch her diet. We will have to try the green beans.

Wonder if the green bean diet would work for fluffy humans…

Oh Hu-dad he is just putting on insulation for the winter
(Ps love the greenbean diet use it all the time for SAR dogs do you use Frozen beans I find the crunch makes them accept the beans easier)

No, we just use canned, unsalted green beans. Q will eat anything (which might be part of the problem), so he is not a challenge eating the green beans.
