Hu-dad was well trained by our first Siberian Husky, Nikita, who was a masterful Escape Artist (click that link for an old story of her escaping ways!). One of his habits now is counting noses – a periodic pause when we are in the yard to make sure that all Siberian noses are present inside Sibe Quentin! Well, we like to make that a little difficult sometimes as Frankie demonstrates.

Yes, Frankie got a big boost in the number of Valentines received yesterday – and is in the lead with 24 Valentines. But Qannik is still dominating the amount of donations raised with $132. Thus far, you have contributed $405 to benefit Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation.
Still plenty of time to get your Valentine in the mail to us. If you wish, enclose a check or money order to Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation and mail your valentine to:

PO Box 1835
Maggie Valley, NC Â 28751-1835
Remember, one lucky reader who has sent a Valentine will be selected to receive the Grand Prize donated by Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery!
While all of this is great fun, the real winners are the animals that Sarge’s will be able to help because of your generosity. They work miracles every day finding homes for dogs, cats and, yes, even a pig last year!

A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
I didn’t even see Frankie until the third picture!
