Valentines Hearts for The Herd Contest – Frankie

Today’s presenter in the Valentines Hearts for the Herd Contest is Frankie!

Remember, the rules are simple. Mail a Valentine to your favorite member of The Herd at:

Dog’s Name
c/o The Thundering Herd
PO Box 1835
Maggie Valley, NC  28751-1835

If you wish, enclose a contribution by including a check or money order in any amount to Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation.  Sarge’s helped over 1100 animals find new homes in 2013 – yes, that is an average of 3 every single day – so your money will be going to a terrific cause.  You can click that link to find out all about Sarge’s.

We will reveal which member of The Herd receives the most Valentines AND who raises the most money for Sarge’s!

And even better – one lucky reader who mails a Valentine will be selected to win a special prize from Smoky Mountain Dog Bakery!  The bakery is absolutely awesome (we are personal fans of the treats!) and we really value their support!

And now, let’s hear from Frankie!

Frankie

My adoption story is simple. After the traumatic loss of Kodiak, the humans visited Siberian Husky Assist, the rescue that guided Kodiak to us. And, on October 22, 2011, I came home to Chez Herd.

Frankie on picnic table

One of my favorite perches, up on my picnic table watching whatever moves.

And, you know what, that describes me. I am just the mellow guy who takes everything in stride. Well, except for thunder. There is no purpose whatsoever in thunder. And anytime I hear it, I head to my hu-dad to tell him to make it stop. I’ve gotten much better about it over time, but thunder should still not exist.

exhausting

One of my most important tasks is supervising the hu-dad while he works in his study.

When the hu-dad is working in his study (or playing on Facebook), I can usually be found curled up on his feet. It is a job I take very seriously and has the added bonus that I get random ear rubs.

Nap time

Helping the hu-dad take a nap. Ok, fine, I am a velcro dog

So now let me wrap this up. Why should you send me Valentines? A big, cuddly, easy going guy?

Frankie

Because I am just so cute.

Wings of Doom
