Just in case we have not made this clear, this Saturday (August 4) is the Seventh Annual Downtown (Waynesville, NC) Dog Walk for Sarge’s Animal Rescue Foundation. Â You know you are looking for a weekend trip to escape the heat of Charlotte, Atlanta, Nashville, Raleigh or wherever you live, so come on up to Waynesville this weekend and participate in a terrific dog event that raises money for an organization that saves animals from euthanasia every day. And if you come, please make a point of stopping and introducing yourself to us. We would love to meet you.
Just in case you do not know what the event is like, we have included videos from the past few walks.
2011
2010 (Yes, the year we led the parade)
2009 (Excuse the rough editing and lack of music, but it does have the classic Rusty boxing the balloons at the end of the video)

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldnât have been much worse.
Hope you have nice weather for it! Forecast high for Saturday here is 101 F.
Rusty and the balloons must’ve been before our hu-Mom became a REGULAR member of “The Thundering Herd” fan club, because she told me ‘n Ice she hadn’t seen this before. She says it’s “absolutely priceless”, and “typical Rusty”. Watching these videos made her remember Kodiak, too, and how she missed him, but we ALL agree Frankie is a wonderful addition to The Herd, in Kodiak’s place.
It looks like so much fun! I hope you guys have as much fun in 2012 as you did in 2011, 2010, and 2009!
Steve
I never get tired of the Rusty and the balloons video! I wish we were close enough to make the drive in a day. It always looks like so much fun!
