Congratulations North Wapiti

Congratulations to Karen Ramstead and the North Wapiti Team on their Iditarod finish Saturday afternoon.  We have followed the team for many years and love watching the Pretty Curly Tails do what they were bred to do.

We thank all of the “minions” who worked behind the scene to give us a great perspective on this year’s race.  You can always check out the team on their website, on the blog, or on the Facebook page.

Or you can check out one of the funniest spontaneous Facebook pages ever published – about the GPS that became “disconnected” from Karen’s blog during the race.

(As we head to bed, three teams are still on the trail.  We will keep monitoring their progress as well – because the race is not over until all of the teams are off the trail.)

Karen is the best of the best & she inspires all of us to do more & to do better! I have followed her a bit longer than The Herd and just love allof you to pieces. All the NW curly tails are amazing athletes & just so much fun to watch. I love my Pretty Sled Dogs DVD & I think The Herd & NW should get together and make a DVD about your adventures.
Congrats to the entire NW family!!! Sitka’s MOM

I am pretty impressed with Karen and the PCTs. Also, that GPS page is one of the funniest things I have read in ages.

Sounds like it was really a great race this year for a lot of reasons! A guy gives his dog mouth to mouth on the trail, one of the youngest drivers ever wins the race and Karen Ramstead did great, too! You must have been on the edge of your seats this year!

(Ayla)”Me ‘n Ice want to add our congratulations to Karen and the North Wapitia “Fur Kidz” too. Our hu-Mom has followed them avidly for about five years now, and her favorite “Fur Kid” is North Wapiti’s “Crunchie”. The hu-Mom met Karen and Crunchie at the Fort St. John CKC Show 8 years ago, and fell in love with Crunchie. 10 years old, and still running the Iditarod. How great is that! The hu-Mom has the video of “Pretty Sled Dogs”, and we love to watch it too, and we sing with them when they sing. Way to go, North Wapiti.
