Sunday Snow Scenery

We did not get anywhere close to 6 inches of snow, but it did snow most of the day Saturday. The temperature dropped steadily (down to 14F (-10C) by lunchtime and 2F (-17C) at sunrise Sunday morning) and the winds howled around 20 mph (32kmph), so what was the perfect thing to do? Go walking around the ranch, of course. Here are some pictures from our walk.

Snow road

The Herd out for a walk.

Rusty

Rusty, of course, was out of frame of the first picture because he was off the side of the road playing.

Cataloochee Ski

Our neighbors at Cataloochee Ski were certainly happy to have some natural snow.

Tree

Our favorite tree looks majestic in all weather.

Ranch Roads

The ranch roads were quiet and great for walking.

pasture

This helps explain why the horses of the ranch are moved from these pastures to warmer climates for the winter.

Cattle gate

The hu-dad seemed to be taking way too many pictures of empty pasture land.

Us

That's more like it - a picture of the red team (the cars are overflow parking from the ski area).

Rhododendron

Walking among the Catawba Rhododendron on the way back to our house.

To us, you just all look like a Happy Siber Herd! You are so lucky, we still got no snow here, in the far Northern part of BC Canada!

You’d almost suspect the Headless Horseman was in command of the Red Team if you didn’t enlarge the picture…

I don’t know about the humans, but I definitely see six happy Sibes in those pictures!

And Queen Natasha spoiled after her puppyhood? That’s just an outrageous claim!

We are waiting for our snow to fall overnight, but we hear it is just going to be one sloppy mess of slush. We loved seeing you all out in the snow – it really does make us feel a little better:)

It looks too cold for me, but I’m glad you got some snow!

    Hi Y’all,

After church was cancelled and the plows ran all night and all morning the sun came out and our snow is almost GONE! Of course steady 40mph winds gusting to 50mph saved lots of shoveling!

Y’all have some great walking right around y’all’s house.

    Y’all come back now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

Ah, there is the difference. You guys can just think of going walking, where we think about putting another log on the fire and baking some cookies. You are the healthier for it, thats for sure, but we are pretty happy!

    Kisses,
    Stella, Jo and Zkhat
