Obviously, we love the great outdoors and spend as much time as we can on the trails in our area. Unfortunately, some people do not respect nature as much, so we find litter in a lot of places. Rather than get mad about it, we remind ourselves that there are far more good people than bad. We simply believe that if each of us took the effort to pick up a few pieces of trash on every hike, the litter would not be an issue. So the next time you are out on a walk, follow Rusty’s lead.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
Rusty was a cutie!!
I think none of us still here tire of Rusty articles. He’s an all tie favorite.
Before my knees got bad and I walked our boy Bradley every day I also would take a trash bag and we would stop and pick up litter along the roads we walked. I love seeing the dogs in the herd from a while ago. Rusty was a very handsome guy!!!
Oh, Rusty!! My absolute favorite out of all members of the Herd. I miss him so much.
Rusty, you are SO right! We always try to do the same thing…leaving our corner of the wild (and in town) a little nicer.
We also agree that there are more good people than bad…but boy, sometimes we sure have to think hard and remind ourselves!
Good job, Rusty! Unfortunately, our dogs pick up only truly edible things (with the exception of the rare tennis ball).
An excellent example of a working breed ‘s natural instinct for recycling… er.. working. Way to go, Rusty!

Great job, bro!

Awesome, Juno crushes all our recycling plastic bottles around the house! So she thinks Roo rocks!
That’s pretty cool, Rusty! I found a $5 dollar bill the other day and gave it to my dad. He seemed to like that I picked that up for him! I’ll try a bottle and see where that gets me!

That sweet Rusty is just the best!!! His craziness is so addictive!!!
Way to go Rusty Roo!! Now if only we could teach Phoenix to do this!
What a good boy, Rusty! Me’n Ice are so proud of you.
Bravo Rusty! I hope, like me, you pre-recycle it too before letting your human put it in the recycle bin for you.
awww π
Hope he’s planning on recycling that!
It really is frustrating when people don’t pick up. my favourite (least favourite) is when people leave a full poop baggie on the path or in the woods near the path. They already did the worst part – the picking up… and then they left a bag of poop.
Mom tends to do that too. Sam helps by carrying things!

Ah, Rusty, thank you for my good morning giggle! You are right, it would be much better if everyone picked up just a little. I think a lot of people share your thoughts about how to get it done, too! π
And, of course, bottles are the absolutely most fun litter to pick up.
We’ve gotten in the habit of bringing a trash bag along when we go kayaking. It’s much easier to pick it up than it is to see a detergent bottle floating in a remote and beautiful place.
Glad Rusty got into the spirit of picking up.
way to get the job done
