The official final total was 16 inches (40 cm) of snow in this storm – not bad for “some snow showers with light accumulation.” We are bracing for the “big storm” that is supposed to start late Sunday night and run into early Tuesday morning. The temperature as of this writing is 4F (-16C) and we are not supposed to see above freezing temperatures until next weekend. Siberian weather!

Yesterday afternoon, we received word that our pal Cool Paws Luke lost his battle with cancer. He fought bravely and was surrounded by so much love from his family – human and canine. We know Luke loved his The Mom dearly and thanks her so much for his second chance at a happy life. We hope that provides you comfort in this difficult time.
Sitting at the Rainbow Bridge now, we know that Luke is comforted to know that so many here miss him and that no thunder (er, funder) will bother him now. Just saying.

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
That sure is a lot of snow!

Love the pic of the “black & white team”…great shot!
We, also, were so sorry to hear about Luke. Our thoughts go out to his hu-family.
Wow, that’s cold! Not for you dogs, but the humans must be freezing!
So sorry to hear about Luke.
Wow that is a lot of snow. Will the hu-dad be able to get out to buy your food? Y’all aren’t going to starve, are you?
That is some amount of snow!!
Enjoy!
We were very sorry to read about Luke.
take care

Found your blog through the Saturday Blog Hop.
Your snow photos are beautiful & it looks like you are making the best of your bad weather.
Our condolences about your friend Luke. Sad, but all part of life. He surely is romping around in DOG HEAVEN right now.
Bye Luke, see you on the other side.
You get as much snow as we do! I had no idea, is this typical? Good thing because I know the Sibes are loving it.
You know, I thought we were neighbors, but I guess we aren’t because we sure don’t have snow like that!
We are very sorry to hear about Luke.
Steve
16 inches of snow?? I guess I’d be totally buried there!
Our thoughts are with Luke’s family.
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Don’t be stopping at 16 inches – you can has way more than that. We don’t want any more up here and we have more coming, too!
Hope you guys are staying warm!
Was so sad to hear about Luke. 🙁
Rest in peace, sweet creature.
HURLEY: What a great blog! Love the pics of you having fun in all the snow.
DUSTY: I’m glad to see you’re tribute to Cool Paws Luke. It’s good to let his mom know that lots of anipals and their families send love and know their loss is understood.
Lucky you! We just had similar conditions since the start of november. Which is almost unseen in Denmark. The dogs (and us) loved it. But unfortunately, this weekend, temperatures moved above zero for the first time. Hope the winter soon returns!
Sorry to hear about Luke. Sending good thoughts.
He had me at “Just Saying”. I will really miss that. We’ve sent our love to his Mom and Bleu.
Lovely snow pictures – a little too cold for me though! I’m not sure I could unfreeze my hands to open those mail boxes!
Sam
Love the snow pictures! I do miss a good storm (but not winter, as a whole!) Glad it’s you and not us!
Luke’s passing has left many sad and in tears. A testimonial, not only to Luke, but to all dogs and how they touch our lives and hearts. We’re so fortunate to be loved by a dog (or many, in your case!) Run Fast and Run free, Luke. You’ll continue to light up lives from beyond!
A very sad day indeed. We loved the Luke – he was just such a sweetheart, just like his Mom. He was always so supportive for Phantom, we will never forget him wearing his shirt in solidarity for Phantom. Our hearts go out to his family. And yes, he must be working very hard to figure out a way to permanently get rid of funder.
We got a bit of snow overnight, but nothing like yours, like maybe a half inch. But we are happy even with this little bit.
Woos ~ Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
That’s a lot of snow! I think that you must be getting all of ours! We have a big storm forecasted to start about now but, if it’s like all the others, it’ll die out before unleashing its fury.
Sad about Luke. So sad.
Now, that’s a lot of snow! You surely live in a beautiful place. Hold tight, stay warm and have fun in the next round of snow.
So sad to hear about The Luke. Rainbow Bridge crossing is seeing way to many of our earthly friends lately. Hu-mom’s eyes are leaking again. We also mourn the loss of Stubby, the pug this weekend.
Drools and licks,
Minnie and Mack
We mourn the Luke’s passing along with so many others in blog-land. Folks who surround themselves with animals, who truly love them, always gather ’round each other – especially when tears are shed. Many tears are being shed for the Mom and for the Bleu who must now go on without the Luke’s calming presence.
Wow…that is a lot of snow. Bet you guys in are heaven. 🙂
So sorry to hear about your friend Luke. 🙁
That’s a lot of snow, definitely a husky dream.
It broke my heart to read about Luke, I haven’t been around long enough to be familiar with the whole story, but I’ve sent way to many babies to the bridge from cancer.
It never stops hurting. It is always a heart breaker.
You have a lot of snow!
Sorry to hear about the passing of the Luke! I hope he is running happily and playing with other angel doggies there now. I’m sure our Hana and Laura are there waiting to play with him too.
In your element. Enjoy each day…
Woos act like you got alot of snowballs or something..
So sad about Luke. Brave soul and He definitely will be missed
norwood
That’s a lot of snow! We’re surprised you didn’t just pull out a sled and let The Herd do what they do best!
We were so sad to learn the news about The Luke today. Our hearts go out to The Mom and The Bleu, along with everybody else who loved him. It’s hard to believe that such a big spirit could leave us.
The khandle has been burning since we got the news –
We are akhtually still numb – Mom shed some tears when she helped me update my blog post that was in place fur Sunday –
I’m pretty sure The Luke will be riding along with my The Mom on Sunday –
I’m just sayin’
Khyra
Your mailbox is buried? Heh. Ours is literally buried – we have so much snow that the front of it just sort of peeks out of the snowbank… Still, that is a KILLER amount of snow for you! Have fun!!! It’s been over a week since we’ve had ‘real’ snow (it’s snowing now but we’re only going to get a few inches) – have fun in the new white stuff for us (we’ll just frolic in our old white stuff!)!!!
