We understand our cousins across the valley at The Thundering Herd were out hiking in the snow. With a roaring fire in the hu-grandmom’s fireplace, we would like to show you what The Herd Annex was doing:

Wings of Doom
December 12, 2024
A simple nightly routine with my dogs led me to face the wings of doom, a hideous creature that lurks in the shadows of my yard.
I can hear the fire cracklin from here! Hat’s off to the Herd Annex for knowin how to really enjoy a cold winter day!!!
wif love from the Luke
Perhaps if you added some incongruous red things to the couch … ?
Looks nice and comfy to me. 🙂
It’s that darn split cushion thing, isn’t it Ruby? One cushion is not long enough and with two you have the edges jabbing right in the ribs!
Ruby, can you make room for one more? You may not be comfy, but it’s a far cry better than my desk!
Ah. Ruby. A fireplace and a couch like that would send us into rapture. Okay?

I am going to try the Siberian Doughnut…

Love photos of snoozling pups. When Lilly curls up really tight, she looks like a “pill bug” or rollypolly (to some). Cracks me up.
Thats how mine were all weekend

I op for the couch.
Hmmmm, we seem to do a lot of that here too – does it have something to do with living with “grandpeeps”?

I wonder if those Siberian doughnuts come with hot chocolate! It looks like the Herd Annex knows how to enjoy a snowy day in luxury!
Me ‘n Ayla agree with HuskyMom. You want to see a real “Husky Donut”, you shud see us two. We cum in the house in the mornin’, after being made to sleep outside in our cold (“yeah, right”, sez Mom, “straw-filled snd insulated”) houses all night, and put on a show to let our people know how cold we were all night. We do it right, with nose buried in tail.
While we agree with you guys, Mom is thinking that the Annex really has the right idea! 😉

Tartok, that is not a proper Sibe donut – the nose in not tucked under the tail and the paws are still visible. That’s more like a sloppy croissant or bear claw. Colder temps in the house are needed to encourage donut-iness–or put the pooches out on the porch. Grade: “needs improvement”
I wish we could keep pillows around here, but they up as tug-of-war toys and so now we “have” to sleep on the bed.
Siber dognuts! Can I get one with my coffee?
Khomfy, Khozy, and Khurled!

Gotta love the fire with snow flying outside! Our R gets up on the hearth and lies as close as possible.
Poor Ruby – stuck on that soft wonderful couch 🙂
We did the same things at our house. We have no fire place though so we get the heating pads out. 🙂
hmmm… what would make that sofa a bit more comfortable? hmmm…. perhaps a nice meaty bone? perhaps a pound of five dollar bills? what would her highness deem appropriate?
Mee finks dat couch looks most comfy and dere is room fur mee too so budge over Miss Ruby mee is comin fur snuggles
