This picture was taken during the height of a strong thunderstorm – heavy rain, strong winds, lightning flashing and lots of thunder crashing (and echoing against the surrounding mountain ridges). Rusty is hardly ever ruffled by any event, and is certainly not disturbed with the strength of this storm. (Actually, The Herd is very blessed that no pup has a fear of thunderstorms.)
This is also yet another great example of Rusty’s second key rule in life – never sleep on the ground. His first key rule? Everything is a game.
Pretty good philosophy of life, huh?

Horrible Hurricane Helene: Why So Bad for WNC?
October 29, 2024
Hurricane Helene was a monster storm, but the way it hit Western North Carolina couldn’t have been much worse.
Ever popular Rusty lives on.
Rusty was one handsome pup. So nice when thunderstorms are not a bother.
I lucked out that my three aren’t afraid of thunder
Don’t forget, we moved to http://dogisgodinreverse.com/
I am plasterin a poster of the Rusty in my bunker wif caption “How To Be A Brave Boy”!
The Rusty is my hero, and I love his Philosophy of Life! Gosh, how I do love a game of displacin the Bleu so I can have the big bed all to myself (and the Mom, of course!)!
wif love from the Luke
P.S. I am still gigglin over your furniture story!
You ARE one good looking and dang cool dawg, Rusty!

PeeS: Can’t wait to see pics of your trip to the beach in a few weeks!
Looks like such royalty there, love the crossed paws. 🙂
That is a beautiful shot of Rusty! He could be King, you know?
Kisses,

Rusty you and Callie would get along just great. Always out for fun and always laying on her condo. Guess that makes you all feel as though you are overseeing the rest of the pack…

Well after all the ground is where the bugs are.
That is a great picture of him!

I’m with you Rusty-everything in life should be a game!
You had me at Rusty!
He looks so dignified and statuesque, there. I had to look close to be sure it really was Rusty! Usually, my favorite Rusty maneuvers involve his shenanigans, but I have to say, I really love that shot! It should be on a calendar somewhere.
Excellent self-control Rusty!
I don’t believe I have ever seen the Rooster quite so mellowed out, paws crossed, and in deep meditation. A very beautiful picture of Rusty.
I hope it doesn’t last! I love his goofiness the very best!
Lucky to not have any storm scared sibes, six of them could be a wildest time!
Kisses,
Stella
I need Rusty to come give Bella lessons on keeping her cool during a storm! 🙂

What a beautiful photo!!
Rusty looks like Greek sculpture perched on the bench! The storm DOES look like a rough one…I do not like the thunder of the loud noises of the rain drumming on the roof and windows. Mom said to tell hi-dad he is SO right, she and dad SHARE a gym bag when we go on weekend trips…I need my own!
Yes, it must be in the sibe genes. We are born without fear….muhahaha…..except fear of silly things like a shakecan; my bro maxxy runs for his life when he hears the word umbrella.
Ciao!
Just came across your site thanks to Honey’s website: I am impressed firstly because I love where you are living, but also I like the idea of living in a pack!
By the way… you are really not impressed by the storm… good for you!
If I can see weel outside of the window… it was a heavy one…
PS: all of you have really nice eyes…
Ciao Lucille
The Paws! That must be his third rule which is the same as Loki’s: always sit politely with crossed paws.
Love his regal look 🙂 He’s a charming boy!
You’re lucky all your dogs aren’t afraid of thunder! Must be a sibe thing 🙂
