Why Go Camping?

Our humans are often asked why they would load six Siberian Huskies into an RV to go camping for the weekend.  Would it be the fresh air?  The relaxing hikes?  Sitting around the campfire?  Or would it be . . .

OMD! It’s a sibe massacre! Oh, just sleeping…that’s a great reason for camping.

Wild Dingo may be on to something there, but if we lived near an area as beautiful as yours, we would love to go camping too. There really is something to be said about the “quiet” of nature.

I hope the campground isn’t full of excited kids starting their summer vacation…there goes the peace and quiet…Have fun!

  14. Wild Dingo on May 26, 2010 at 12:29 pm

you don’t fool us. there’s no way you’d have six craziberians if you didn’t like the noise. no. you go camping so you can give your neighbors (the bears, the skiers, the squirrels) a break! 😉

Nothing like a long hike and camping to mellow out the dogs!

  16. Dennis the Vizsla on May 26, 2010 at 11:10 am

Looks like the aftermath of the climax of an old Chuck Norris movie!

  17. Zona on May 26, 2010 at 10:43 am

Some two-leggers leave their dogs at home when they camp?! My two-leggers bought our camper BECAUSE of us! BOL!

That is actually quite a beawoootiful picture. Momma likes it! She says she wants to lay her head in their fluff and take a shnooze herself.

Hmm. Is that part of that whole “A tired Sibe is a good Sibe” thing?

Hey, we thought you guys were the “thundering” herd, not the lounging herd!

  23. KB on May 26, 2010 at 9:14 am

We have only 2 or 3 dogs at a time in our family, and we get asked the same question… Many people leave their dogs home when they go camping. What a travesty! There wouldn’t be any peace and quiet 🙂

Wooos! I seem to do the same out on my boat! Nothing like a tired dog!

Those are some very tired Sibes! Holy smokes! I didn’t think that was possible!

  26. Priscilla on May 26, 2010 at 7:57 am

What a peaceful time! Lovely picture and beautiful HERD.

By the way, please bear with me that I’m a computer retarded person here. I want to follow you on the blog but somehow couldn’t find the right way to do it. I don’t have facebook and am not bothered to make one so I can’t join your fan club.

Serenity, thy name is Herd. At least for the moment.

  28. Sam on May 26, 2010 at 2:12 am

I say all of the above. It’s so nice to just get out and get away from it all. Even though I’ve never been camping, the serenity of the woods is something that I long for if I haven’t been there in a while.

  29. Life With Dogs on May 26, 2010 at 1:16 am

Looks like someone got into the Benadryl. 😉

Tell the truth – are you sure you didn’t just want to pitch a tent?
