Ruby Tuesday

Chuckling – we still love the suggested meme for the day – Ruby Tuesday – so we thought we would use Tuesday to share pictures from The Thundering Herd Annex – the hu-grandparents house.

Ruby paying close attention to the preparation of the human's dinner.

Tartok monitoring from a more relaxed pose (but still able to snarf anything that hits the floor).

Moving out to the den after the humans have eaten.

Ruby contemplating her missed counter surfing opportunities (the humans were too careful tonight).

Oh Ruby, hopefully next time they will slip and you will get a goody from the counter!

Sam always has a post-dinner evaluations where he checks to see if there was anything he could have done differently to get more tidbits!

Tartok knew better than Ruby today. Not even a crumb for poor Ruby? Sucks. I’m hungry now.

I think she’s working on a plan so that there will never be another meal prepared without something dropped. Please give her this tip from me: Lay right in front of the stove or sink so that your mom has to step over you to do anything. Eventually she will lose her balance and drop something.

Ruvy reminds Mom of TD – always ready for food.

My new brother looks just like you guys when dad or mom are making food. Me? I sit politely in the chair by the doorway and watch from there because I know dad ALWAYS lets me “sample” what’s cooking.

  12. gus, louie and callie on March 2, 2010 at 7:08 pm

Oh yes you all help just like we do. Callie does the surfing. Louie stays really close, between mom and the cabinets hoping for droppings..

Aw, don’t they always look so disappointed when the opportunity for tidbits has ended? So cute.

Happy Ruby Tuesday from our Ruby to yours! 🙂

It’s amazing how fast a dog like Ruby can train humans! Our R has us impeccably trained about the counters!

I mentioned that R counter surfs more for CDs than for food. Well, we’ve discovered that he’s specific about the CDs. He only gnaws on ones containing MRIs, CAT scans, or xrays of spine. I guess that I like his attitude. But, going back to hospital for new copies and having to explain that my dog chewed the first one is kind of embarrassing and funny!

  23. Houndstooth on March 2, 2010 at 8:15 am

Awww! Better luck next time, Ruby! Maybe they’ll trip over Tartok lying there on the floor and need a clean up on aisle five!

  24. Beckett on March 2, 2010 at 8:02 am

Ruby, don’t worry. The humans will eventually slip up and you will once again score some premium noms by counter-surfing.

  25. Sonic on March 2, 2010 at 5:35 am

Awww… no snacks? Maybe if you keep walking into your humans’ legs, they might drop stuff then!

  26. Sierra-dog on March 2, 2010 at 3:16 am

There is never a dull moment with the herd! =) Aren’t Grand peeps the best?! Sometimes my Grandpeep winks and says “Oops” while dropping yummies on the floor. Shhh! Don’t tell! =)

  27. Suka on March 2, 2010 at 2:23 am

No counter surfing? Well, at least you tried. You were in a good position, just too bad you could not take advantage of it. Tartok looks very content!
