Bully Sticks!

In a comment to yesterday’s post, Suka asked, “Who is the poor pup in the cage in the background?”

Moving from the floor to the couch - still acting like the cool dude I am.

On the right is Kiska and on the left you can just barely see Natasha’s paw.  You can see them much more clearly in this picture (Yes, those are our Diggler Scooters you see propped up against the crates):

Natasha and Kiska in their crates

Don’t think they have been singled out.  You will notice in the picture below that Cheoah and Qannik are also in their crates:

Kodiak, Qannik, Cheoah and Rusty

So what is everyone doing?  They are chewing on their Bully Sticks.

But why oh why are Natasha, Kiska, Qannik and Cheoah in their crates and Kodiak and Rusty are not?  Simple answer.  Kodiak and Rusty can be trusted not to try to take a Bully Stick from anyone else.  Everyone else – well, the trust is not there.  So to avoid even the potential of a squabble over the Bully Sticks, everyone is in their crates.

I took lots and lots of pictures of The Herd chewing their sticks so I could show you how good they are.  But every one of them is blurry.  Sigh.  The best picture I got was this over head shot of Natasha:

Natasha focused on the stick

And why an aerial view?  Notice in the second picture of this post that Natasha has her back to the room.  That is because she took her stick and then protected it by turning her back to everyone.

The Herd loves their Bully Sticks!

Bonnie, the smooth coat JRT swears that the dogs or cats will get her chew. I think you’re smart putting them in crates. Bonnie usually has hers with Dad in another room and the other four lay around Mom. Avoid conflict, separate the dogs. Not sure if you read it, I bought 12lbs of bully sticks in the fall and stored them. Had to throw them out because they were full of bugs! Not from BB, the dogs love the stinky ones so I bought from another dealer. Back to Best Bully Sticks for me! Oh, look up coupon codes on the web, I find them and use on my orders for BB.com.

I missed a couple of posts, and I don’t know how it happened! I need to get off these pain meds!

I love the Bully stick photos… And the logistics of handing out bully sticks. A big pack is hard to manage!

We had a bully stick fanclub here, until the mean vet declared them off-limits for K due to her pancreatitis. So, now, R gets them only when K is out without him… Not too often.

Hmmm, I don’t have chew bones like that, but maybe my people friends will get me some.

When my mum and dad met Steve and Kat and their mum and dad in Seattle in 2008, Steve and Kat had bully sticks while the people ate other food. Steve and Kat reported back that they were most excellent bully sticks!

I totally understand the need to protect your treat. It is like when Dragon-brat comes over and wants HIS treat AND MINE! Sometimes I just have to let him have it with a quick snap or a growl or a slap to the head!

We know those by the name “pizzle” and believe me, they cause quite a stir in my home too. We heart them so much, we sometimes forget our manners too. And for the skeptics, I would jump in a crate in a jiffy for a one of those to chew on. Yum

Diggler Scooters are the bomb!! Max didn’t enjoy them but Baby and Peanut went out of their minds!!! (They really didn’t have far to go, if you get what I’m saying!! Hahaha!)

Bully Sticks are a hit with Marge, too. I should really get her some – it’s been a while.

The crate set up sounds like a good idea. I think, if I had multiple dogs, I’d do the same.

They look so cute, each chomping happily in their own world! Cabana loves bully sticks, too–but they are a rare treat because they seem to cause…runny poops (sorry, couldn’t think of a nicer way to put it). How often do you let the Herd enjoy bully sticks?

  21. Clive on January 29, 2010 at 9:10 am

Looks like you are all enjoying those bully sticks! A lot!!

    Have a great weekend

  24. The OP Pack on January 29, 2010 at 8:29 am

OK, so we DO have crates, but we DON’T have bully sticks. Mom really needs to see that it is possible for us to enjoy bully sticks in peace. Thanks for helping us find a way to prove it to her.

    Happy Friday, Phantom and Thunder

  25. Houndstooth on January 29, 2010 at 8:05 am

Ours love bully sticks, too, and I know how quickly a squabble can break out over a high value treat. It looks like The Herd is really enjoying themselves!

  26. Teddy Bear on January 29, 2010 at 1:42 am

I think we all love our bully sticks and must protect them at all cost!:)

    Love,
    Teddy Bear
