Tricks of the Annex

Our humans went over to our hu-grandparents on Saturday – and once again left us at home.  Bummer.  But they did bring back pictures of our cousins performing “tricks.”  Apparently, tricks are things that you do that the humans ask you to do.  How weird.  But here you go:

We do like their approach to this one

Step 3 – Finally

Aren’t big brothers great to emulate?  Step 1 – Paw

They make it so easy to understand what to do – Step 2 – Tongue

Crystal clear – Step 3 – Down

Tomorrow – Tricks of the Annex that we do understand

I know that shake trick! Except mommy calls it “papatte”! And it’s useful for causing bruises on humans

The things they make us do! Sticking out your tongues is a furry nice touch.

You pups have some smart cousins! The sticking out of the tongue is the best move yet! I will have to incorporate that into my sitting, shaking, and laying down routines. Sorry you pups were left home alone, but did you have fun with the humans away?

Ha, they really like shaking hands, don’t they. Marge is shy about who she gives her paw to. When she took her CGC, it was the part she almost flunked because she would get all wigged out when the evaluator touched her paws.

Your cousins are quite the obedient duo!

we love tricks. Abbeys favorite trick would be to dance and mayas would be to speak. 🙂

There are only two shakers in this house. They have also perfected “laying at will.”

Hmmmmm, we do shake and down, Mom says she will have to see if we do the paw and tongue thing too. Nice tricks, Tartok and Ruby. Hope you were well rewarded.

It looks like both are very obedient, in their own special way. Are you sure huskies are not in the hound group? I specialize in doing “something” when given a command. Usually it is not the behavior that the human requested, but they laugh, so I guess it’s all good.

I am not much of a trickster, but when I want something from my Mom, I go to her and stick my right paw on her arm or leg. Then she grabs it, shakes it up and down, saying Howdy Stella, what can I do for you? Then I let her know outside is what I want.

So, is this authentic shaking paw? If a friend comes and I put my paw on her, my Mom says ” Oh, she wants to shake your paw!” And inside we both are laughing.

    Kisses,
    Stella

These are very impressive tricks, but I must say that I’m much more interested in what you’re going to show us tomorrow.

Well, shake and down do sound sorta the same! I can see how one could be easily confused!! 🙂

I love the paw and sticking out the tongue on the way down! 🙂

I do the shake and down thing too, but only when it involves food!

  17. JacksDaddy on December 14, 2009 at 1:07 pm

Maybe the tongue is connected to the rear and they have to stick it out to get everything moving! 🙂

  18. Denns the Vizsla on December 14, 2009 at 10:47 am

Methinks the key to the trick is all in the tongue …

  19. KB on December 14, 2009 at 9:32 am

Wow, I forgot to teach my dogs either the paw or ‘stick out the tongue’ part of a down! I need to get to work, right now! I wonder how you teach a dog to ‘stick out their tongue’?

It is hilarious that they both did it exactly the same way.

  20. The_Dogfather on December 14, 2009 at 8:53 am

    That’s a perfect DOWN!! 10 out of 10!

Oh very nice. Are they REAL siberians?

When Juno “downs” she likes to lightly bite my hand on the way down. it’s so funny, i crack up everytime. so of course, she thinks it appropriate!
