Think you can keep those blue eyes open after a day of hiking, Rusty?

You are getting sleepy.  Your eyes are closing.

IMG_5854

I’m not fooled. I know you have an On and Off switch like me. I bet if I pick up your leash.. you’d be wide awake and ready to go.

Rusty, a family member always likes to say when he assumes this head up, eyes closed posture that he is only “resting his eyes” and not sleeping!

That could be what you were doing.

Great series of photos! I laugh every time my dogs fall asleep with their heads still held high. But, with Rusty’s handsome blue eyes, it’s an even greater sight!

Rusty must have had a fun hike in the snow. I hope that you got more. I’d be very glad to send you some our winter weather. It’s -7F and snowing here this morning. That’s a bit extreme for me, and there’s no end in sight.

Awww, go ahead, Rusty. Put your head down and have some sweet dreams – it won’t be long and it will be time for another hike.
