Beach Trip – Day Three

Can I tell you about our day?

Sure, I could show you pictures of us walking on the beach and will do that before the end of the post.  But, first, here is something we found far more interesting.  The State Park Service has built a walkway between the camping area to the beach to protect the fragile environment of the dunes.  So, we are walking along this walkway when this slithered near us.  Let’s just say the humans were far less intrigued than we were:

We also went to North Myrtle where the wildfires have burned almost 20,000 acres and destroyed 76 homes.  We have great sympathy for those affected as we live in an area of wildfires ourselves, including the close Pinnacle Ridge Fire last year and the Big Cove Fire that burned 1500 acres this past week near us.  We were up in North Myrtle Beach for some shopping, but drove back through some of the affected area.  The pictures speak for themselves:

But let’s leave this on happier thoughts.  The Herd enjoying a walk down the beach (with Rusty being Rusty):

We’re scared of snakes! Thank goodness we don’t have any here!

    Rusty is sooooo hilarious! 🙂

I wonder if real snakes are as fun to play with as the stuffie kind.

A lot of my home state looks like those fire affected areas too. We lost a lot of homes and a lot of people this summer.

It looks like you’re having a good day! My mom would have ran back to the S-RV and would have refused to leave if she had seen that snake!

Be careful when you are stomping around the beach because there are way worse things than snakes. Like jellyfishes which are nothing to do with jelly and everything to do with poison. Sharks too can be bad guys. The beach is no place to be careless!

You are all so lucky to have such wonderful hoomans to take you to the beach. And WOOO! A snakety snake. I hope you got a snooter on that thing, although I bet it would be hard to smell its’ butt. It is sad for those who were affected by the wildfires. We hope you never have to face such a situation. Be sure to cut back any brush and small trees from around your hooman kennel.

OMD, you found a cousin of my Sammy the Snake – did you give him a good sniff?

Those fires are such horrible things, too bad they are mostly caused by stupid humans.

    Rusty, you ARE a clown.

    Hi!
I wish I was along.. snakes and the beach- my favorite things! But not sure anyone would let me lead???? I’m a bit pushy about it.

Those fires are awful- the pictures say alot but I’m sure worse in person.
