Beach Trip – Day One

We were so ready for a walk.  Ok, we had a walk near the house before we left, but once loaded in the RV, it is a six-hour drive to the beach.  Add a couple of stops at rest areas to exchange pee-mails and a couple of stops for the humans, and it made for a long day.  We were VERY ready to get out of the RV when we got to Huntington Beach State Park where we are camping for the weekend.  And it got even better when we got out of the RV and went for a walk.  We got to see:

A squirrel.  Ok, for the rest of you, this might be an everyday experience.  But remember that the only squirrels we have near the house are Flying Squirrels and they are both (1) very rare to see and (2) flying – argh!.  So to see an actual squirrel on the ground had our full attention.

Another Sibe! We started to go over and introduce ourselves to see if he/she is a fellow blogger, but the pal behind was an off-leash dog.  Oh, well, we did not go say hello.  Maybe some other time this weekend.

Kiska had a really good time in the surf, as you can see, but it does raise an interesting question.  We all thought she was bigger.  Looks kind of skinny with the coat matted down in water, huh?

Amazingly, after a long day in the RV, a long and exciting walk on the beach and dinner, we were starting to zonk out at sunset.  Just preparing for Day Two:

And for Rusty the Rooster fans (and there are a lot of you), we have a special Rusty sleeping picture.  Let’s just say the boy knows how to relax:

We have to go a few blocks from our house to see squirrels. I’m not sure why. Maybe Oswald won’t let them in here.

Squirrels and the beach?? I see lots of squirrels and rabbits around my house, but never one near a beach. I wish my humans would take me to a beach! But I don’t think I can handle being in a car for six hours…

Kiska is just a little baby girl! That beach looks like so much fun. I’ve never been to a beach.

Such a great life you live – so the humans got a day off??? We rarely get to see any squirrels here either. No idea why. Have fun tomorrow – we look forward to lots of pics.

Ahhhhh….the joy of squirrels. If you work together and just drag your human behind you, there is a chance you could catch one. Just keep trying.

How very well behaved The Thundering Herd is!
