Four months ago, Sally trotted into Chez Herd, took one look around at the boys, and decided they desperately needed organization. Without hesitation, she crowned herself the brains of the operationāand trust us, she wears that crown proudly.

On walks, Sally rotates her mischief between pouncing on Roscoe and Landon. She did try it once with Frankie Suave. Keyword: once. True to his nickname, Frankie didnāt flinch, didnāt fussāhe just gave her The Look. You know the oneāthose soulful brown eyes radiating dignified disappointment and a heartfelt suggestion that other options should be considered. Sally wisely decided two Siberian chew toys were sufficient.
When pouncing doesnāt get her way, Sally unleashes her secret weapon: The Paw. A mighty swing delivered to any dogāor humanānot moving fast enough. Roscoe and Landon have both been on the receiving end. So has Hu-Dad. And doors that dared not open promptly. The Paw waits for no one.
But her ultimate superpower? The Chirp. Not a woo. Not a bark. A chirp. A relentless, escalating series of chirps that shall notānay, cannotābe ignored. She chirps until her will is done.
Sally may be looking to expand her domain. She spends some of her yard time snoopervising on the neighbors in all directions. Surely they are in need of her organization skills as well.
Naturally, a girl with this much personality has collected her fair share of nicknames: Sally Jane, Sally Woo, Sally Wally (yes, it rhymes), Mustang Sally, Chirpy, Munchkin (those adorable short legs!), and Bullet Traināfor her preferred mode of high-speed travel around the house. Finesse? Optional. Speed? Mandatory. Shoes, canines, humans, furnitureāif theyāre in her path, theyāre getting mowed down. Imagine bowling with Siberians and you have properly imagined the mayhem.
Yet inside that bossy little body beats the heart of a world-class cuddler. Plant her next to a human on a couch or chair, add some strategic chirping, and youāll soon find yourself assigned to ear-rubbing duty. Itās snuggling, sureābut strictly on Sallyās terms. And for as long as she deems appropriate. Donāt dare stop early.
So yes, four months in, Miss Sally has fit right into Chez Herdāand thanks to her, the trains are running on timeā¦even if theyāre occasionally derailed by a flying shoe.
A very special thank you to Charlieās Angels Animal Rescue for guiding sweet Sally to our home.

Lost in Fur: Tech Gone Wrong
March 21, 2025
Smart tech meets shedding chaos. My newest robovac takes on four Siberian Huskiesāonly to get hilariously lost in an avalanche of fur.
Hahaha 𤣠Every herd needs a Bossy Mama!
Happy Mother’s Day to Sally š¹ & all “Mom’s”
The girls always ruled in our packs. Glad to hear she’s doing her share for your herd too.
Oh, the paw! I’m well acquainted with the paw. My girl Aurora is a 3rd degree master(mistress?) of paw fu! Glad to see that Sally is setting things in proper order at Chez Herd! Cheers!
You go, Sally girl!
Alpha Mom’s rule the roost !!! ā„ļø
Yay for the girls!!!š¹
Aw – I have noticed that husky packs seem to tend strongly toward matriarchy. Good job, Sally, keeping those chuckleheads in line! It’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it! And you are doing it with style (and the occasional flying shoe). I’m so happy that all is going well with the newest addition. Your herd has a special place in my heart and was one of the first places I found info about huskies – and I blame you for giving me such high expectations on the number of huskies in one home – I started with one and now have 4. Love to all the herd!
What a wonderful post! I’m so glad Sally is doing well. The boys definitely needed a girl’s touch.
Go Sally Go! Get those boys in line. Just be respectful to Frankie Suave, you have to be nice to your elders.
Nothing better than a husky cuddler, you go a good one Hu-Dad!! Thanks for sharing.
So glad your new girl is fitting in so well. She got the best of the best home for a Sibe.
Ah a new Herd story!! Loving Miss Sally, boys always need organization. Frankie just keep being your Sauve self!
Fits in like she has always been there. Every herd needs a female to keep things interesting. š¾š¾
(Wow, I’ve been out of the loop! Sally reminds me of Juno, a dominant female. She was a hoot and a bit of an escape artist.)
Sounds like Roscoe has a new playmate.
Oh Hu-Dad. What a great post. I laughed and chuckled at Sally’s antics. Love the names for her and the fact she chirps(lol) plus that she loves to cuddle on her but her terms.
I am so glad Charlie’s Angels Animal Rescue sent her to your family ā¤ļø
love your dog stories, they brighten my day, ty
